If you drag one and hold it over another. You can then delete apps via the 'x' in their top left corners (though you can't delete the built-in Apple apps), or drag them around the screen so as to re-arrange theie order. To hide an app from iPhone, swipe left to show the Hide button. If you press and hold one of the icons on your homescreen, then after a couple of seconds or so they should start to shake.
Switch to the Not on this iPhone tab to find those deleted apps. The All tab opens by default, here you can find all your previously purchased apps. Hold down the select button on the remote. To hide icons using the Apple Remote: Select the icon you want to hide. Note that if Restrictions are on, you may need to enter a 4 digit passcode to complete these steps. Open the App Store on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, tap the avatar at the top right corner to open the Account page, select Purchased, you will then find the All and Not on this iPhone tabs. Icons can be hidden using the Apple Remote or using the Settings menu. When you have removed an app from your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch and don’t plan to redownload it again in the near future, or when some apps are out-of-date, you may hide the app on your iPhone or iPad to declutter your long list of purchased items.
This however can’t help clean up your purchase history in App Store.
To do that just press and hold the app icon on your home screen, the “X” bubble will show up at the top left of the app, tap on it to delete an app and its data from your iOS device.
